First Day of School
This is the first day of school for Lise-Maria. She will be a senior attending Valencia High School. The funny thing is that the mascot is a Viking! She is a true Viking :)
When she came home, she said it was a great day and LOTS of people. It's a larger school than she is used to back home in Molde. She hopes to get more involved with the theater group, dance, and maybe the girls soccer team in the winter.

Arrival Day!
Sarah and I drove down to LAX last night to pick up Lise-Maria. She arrived in New York earlier that morning and landed in LA around 6pm. By the time we picked her up she had been traveling for about 24 hours. She was pretty tired and hungry!
On the way home, we stopped at In-N-Out for dinner. A California burger experience!
Sarah and her friend decorated the car for Lise-Maria.
She likes the turtles.
On one of the last days before school started, we went to Ventura beach. Lise-Maria is enjoying the water with Emily and Grace. She LOVES the hot weather we have, even when it is 110 degrees!

Our daughter from Norway!
We found out we are going to have a daughter from Norway! The family is very excited. Her name is Lise-Maria and she is 16 years old. She is from a city called Molde on the west coast of Norway about 310 miles from Oslo.
Lise-Maria has a mom, dad, younger brother and sister. So she will fit in very well with us! She is scheduled to arrive Los Angeles on August 8th and Shannon and Sarah will pick her up from the airport.
From her application, we can tell she is a very bright and outgoing kid. She loves theater and dance. What an exciting year for her to be near the entertainment capital of the world-Hollywood!
