Brownie-Olympics
This last weekend was the Brownilympics for Sarah. This was also an all day event at a local park. Here she is with her team.
The brownies all compete in different events. Sarah won 2'nd place in the soccer ball dribble.
She had a fun time competing in events and spending time with her friends.

A kilt, a monkey, and alpacas...
Sunday we went up to medieval faire up in Frazier Park. They had sword fighting, archery, and vendor booths. It was fun, but we missed the jousting because the kids got tired. That probably would have been the most exciting part. Oh well, we'll have to try and catch it next year. Here's one of the performers talking about Medieval swords.
This guy runs a animal rescue. He brought along the monkey from "Pirates Of The Caribbean - The curse of the Black Pearl"
Emily and Brandon enjoyed looking at the Alpacas.

One little fishy...
Matt decided to put the new fish tank on the partition between the kitchen the family room. Though, the partition is just drywall and is a little too narrow. He built a melamine shelf with pine trim. This gave a nice waterproof surface that matched the aquarium width.
We then put the aquarium in place and filled it up!
When it was all filled up, the kids pretended to be fish.

A Pirates Life...
Matt has been watching as the studio filmed on a large pirate ship at work. They built it on top of one of the parking garages.
Matt climbed on board to take a look. Wish we had this in our backyard!!!
They only detail the parts that will be on film.
Here's a picture looking back at the building where Matt works. You can see the balcony where he took the first picture from. The mountain in the background is the one that has the "Hollywood" sign. It's on the other side, so you'd have to climb over the mountain to see it.

Playhouse & Ponies
I finished the front porch on the kid's playhouse. It's meant to look like a building from an old west town. I still need to paint it and add some details. Here's Ben with a few of his freinds just after we finished the porch. We are still in the process or painting it and adding details. I have a horseshoe to nail over the doorway.
Sarah got to visit a friend who looks after about 30 horses. One had just given birth.
Here she is with a 2 day old horse and its mother.
She really enjoyed getting getting to see the horses and help with chores.
