Maritime in San Diego

While in San Diego, we went to the San Diego Maritime Museum.

I think the highlight was the Russian Sub.

A New Year's Road Trip - Flight over Sacramento

Shannon's cousin Mike is a pilot and he took the kids out for a spin in a Cessna over Sacramento. It was a little foggy, but they had a good time.

A New Year's Road Trip - CA State Capitol, Sutter's Fort

Then after stopping by the Jelly Belly Factory for a tasting and tour, we went to the California State Capitol in Sacramento. We also visited the California State Railroad Museum in Old Town Sacramento. On the way home we stopped by Sutter's Fort.

A New Year's Road Trip - San Francisco Waterfront

After a trip to San Francisco's China Town, we spent a lot of time at San Francisco's waterfront. There we toured many ships at the Maritime National Museum.

A New Year's Road Trip - The Golden Gate Bridge

For the first day of 2013, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge. Lise-Maria and Shannon walked across and back. It was super windy and freezing cold.

A New Year's Road Trip - New Year's Eve

Our New Year's road trip started off with a visit with Matt's mom and brother in Salinas, CA. After the visit, we ventured to Monterrey, CA where the kids played at the beach.

Then it was off to the city of San Francisco for New Year's fireworks. All bundled up for the train ride from Millbrae to San Francisco.

There was a 20-30 minute firework show over the Bay Bridge in San Francisco.
